Most power stations run your lights. This runs your home. From washing machines to power tools — and with expansion, it becomes a full-scale energy system. This isn't backup power. It's independence.

Why this is a real UPS
Most units take 20–30ms to switch when power cuts — enough to reset your router or crash your PC. The Hero Ultra Plus switches in 10 milliseconds. Keep it plugged in permanently. When loadshedding hits, nothing restarts. It just keeps going.
Why go this big?
Because smaller units force compromise. At 3600W, this powers high-demand appliances effortlessly — tumble dryers, dishwashers, electric chainsaws. And with expansion batteries, it keeps running for days, not hours.
Perfect for
✓ Whole-home power backup — including heavy appliances
✓ Families who want zero compromise during loadshedding
✓ Permanent home installation with optional capacity expansion
✓ Construction sites, farms, and remote properties
✓ Extended off-grid living and serious outdoor adventures
Scales With You
Start at 3840Wh. Expand to 7680Wh or 11,520Wh with one or two extra Gizzu batteries (SKU: GEB3800, sold separately). No rewiring. No complexity. Plug in and grow your system as your needs increase.
Why you'll love it
| ✓ | 3600W rated output — the full household, no exceptions — at 3600W pure sine wave across 3 SA plugs, the Hero Ultra Plus runs every household appliance. Tumble dryers (2800W), dishwashers (2000W), electric chainsaws (2400W), air conditioners, electric irons — the complete list of what other power stations have to decline. Total connected load must stay below 3600W; peak draw above 7200W triggers immediate shutdown. |
| ✓ | 3840Wh base capacity — expandable to 11,520Wh — 3840Wh is already the most capacity in the range. Add one Gizzu expansion battery (GEB3800) for 7680Wh, or two for 11,520Wh. The expansion ports are on the rear panel — plug and play, no tools required. This is the only unit in the ALLUSTRA power range that scales beyond its base capacity. |
| ✓ | Recharges in 2.2 hours from a wall socket — at 3840Wh, charging in 2.2 hours via the 2200W AC input is exceptional. Standard units at this capacity take 10–16 hours. The Hero Ultra Plus refills between loadshedding stages and is ready for the next one. |
| ✓ | 2000W solar input via XT90 — the fastest solar in the range — the XT90 port accepts up to 2000W of solar input (12–160V), charging the base unit in approximately 3 hours from solar alone. Combined with the AC input, this is a genuinely off-grid capable system for remote properties, farms, and extended outages. |
| ✓ | LiFePO4 — 3,500 cycles and decade-long lifespan — the same LiFePO4 chemistry used across the Hero range. Handles partial charging far better than standard lithium-ion, carries a significantly lower risk of thermal runaway, and is rated for 3,500 full charge cycles. At daily loadshedding use, that's over a decade before capacity drops below 80%. |
| ✓ | 15 output ports, LCD screen, and 3W LED torch — 3× 220V SA plugs, 1× USB-C PD 100W, 3× USB-C PD 20W, 2× USB-A QC 3.0, 2× DC5521, 1× car socket, 1× XT60, 2× expansion battery ports. The LCD screen displays charge level, input/output wattage, and estimated runtime at a glance. The 3W LED torch (brighter than the Hero Pro's 1W) activates instantly at the press of a button. |
Estimated run times — single device
Note: Total connected load must stay below 3600W. Peak draw above 7200W triggers immediate shutdown.
| Device | Draw | Base 3840Wh |
+1 Battery 7680Wh |
+2 Batteries 11,520Wh |
| 82" LED TV | 295W | 10 hrs | 20 hrs | 30 hrs |
| Gaming Desktop PC | 800W | 3.5 hrs | 7 hrs | 10.5 hrs |
| Microwave | 800W | 3.5 hrs | 7 hrs | 10.5 hrs |
| Washing machine | 850W | 3.5 hrs | 7 hrs | 10.5 hrs |
| Circular saw | 1200W | 2.5 hrs | 5 hrs | 7.5 hrs |
| Espresso machine | 1500W | 2 hrs | 4 hrs | 6 hrs |
| Hairdryer | 1800W | 1.5 hrs | 3 hrs | 4.5 hrs |
| Dishwasher | 2000W | 1.5 hrs | 3 hrs | 4.5 hrs |
| Electric chainsaw | 2400W | 1 hr | 2 hrs | 3 hrs |
| Tumble dryer | 2800W | 1 hr | 2 hrs | 3 hrs |
Quick estimate: Runtime ≈ 3840Wh ÷ total watts used. Example: 400W home setup = ~9.6 hours on base capacity alone. Green column = base unit only; add batteries to multiply.

Frequently asked questions
How does the battery expansion work?
The Hero Ultra Plus has two expansion battery ports on the rear panel. Connect one Gizzu Extra Battery (SKU: GEB3800, sold separately) to double capacity to 7680Wh. Connect two for 11,520Wh. The expansion batteries plug directly into the ports — no additional cables, inverters, or configuration required. The LCD screen automatically reflects the updated capacity. Expansion batteries can be added or removed at any time.
Can it run an air conditioner?
Small portable air conditioners (800–1500W) will run within the 3600W limit. Standard split-unit air conditioners (typically 1500–3500W depending on capacity) may be within range but check your unit's rated wattage before connecting. High-capacity air conditioners above 3600W will exceed the limit. The surge draw at startup is also a factor — some AC units draw 2–3× their rated wattage on startup for a fraction of a second. Check both the running wattage and the startup wattage.
Why does the battery show 90% after extended UPS use?
This is normal and by design. After 2 days of continuous UPS mode, the BMS throttles charge between 90–100% to prevent overcharging and protect long-term battery health. This does not affect the 3,500-cycle lifespan or performance. Think of it as the BMS preserving your investment automatically — the unit still provides full output capacity during a power cut.
Is it safe to use indoors at 42kg?
Completely safe indoors — zero emissions, no fumes, no exhaust. LiFePO4 carries a significantly lower risk of thermal runaway than standard lithium-ion. The 42kg weight means this is best treated as a permanent installation rather than a portable unit — position it in a dedicated spot (home office, utility room, or near your distribution board) and leave it there. Wheels or a trolley can help with initial placement.
Can I use it while charging?
Yes — this is UPS mode. Keep it plugged in permanently with devices connected. Loadshedding hits: switches to battery in 10ms, nothing restarts. Power returns: recharges automatically while continuing to power all connected devices. The LCD screen shows real-time input/output wattage and estimated runtime at all times.
How long does delivery take?
Free nationwide delivery across South Africa within 5–7 working days. The Hero Ultra Plus ships at 42kg — ensure two people are available to receive and position it. Tracking provided once dispatched.
