Whole-Home Backup Power — No Interruptions, No Noise, No Stress

1024Wh · 1000W · UPS 10ms · LiFePO4 · Charges in 1.3hrs · 12 output ports

When the power goes out, the Gizzu Hero Max switches over in 10 milliseconds — your router stays connected, your laptop doesn't skip a beat, your fridge keeps running. And when Eskom comes back, it recharges from flat to full in 1 hour 20 minutes.

✦  10ms UPS switchover  ·  ✦  1024Wh LiFePO4 battery  ·  ✦  1000W pure sine wave AC  ·  ✦  Full charge in ~1.3 hours  ·  ✦  3,500 cycle lifespan · 12 output ports

What makes this a UPS, not just a power station?

Most portable power stations take 20–30ms to switch when power cuts. That gap is long enough to crash a desktop PC, restart a router, or interrupt a video call. The Gizzu Hero Max switches in 10 milliseconds — faster than any connected device can register. To your laptop, TV, router, or desktop: the power never went off.

Why not a cheaper backup?
Most budget UPS systems only power a router for 30-60 minutes. The Hero Max powers your entire setup - TV, WiFi, laptop, lights - for hours, not minutes. It also charges 4x faster than comparable units and lasts 10x longer than standard lithium-ion batteries.

Perfect for

✓  Loadshedding backup for your home — all stages covered
✓  Working from home without losing connection or progress
✓  Keeping WiFi, TV, and lights running through any outage
✓  Home offices, small businesses, and apartments
✓  Camping and off-grid use paired with solar panels

Why you'll love it

LiFePO4 battery — 3,500 cycles and 10 years of loadshedding — most power banks and entry-level power stations use standard lithium-ion, which degrades noticeably after 300–500 cycles. LiFePO4 (Lithium Iron Phosphate) is chemically more stable, holds its capacity for 3,500+ charge cycles, and handles partial charging far better than standard lithium-ion. At 2 hours of loadshedding daily, that's over a decade of daily use before the battery drops below 80% capacity. It also doesn't overheat or pose fire risk the way lithium-ion can.
1000W pure sine wave output — runs real appliances, not just phone chargers — pure sine wave AC is the same quality of power that comes from the wall. It's what your appliances expect, and it's required for sensitive electronics like televisions, desktop computers, CPAP machines, and certain fridges. At 1000W continuous (1200W rated), the Hero Max handles a 65" TV (120W), a fibre router (15W), a laptop (65W), and several lights simultaneously — with capacity to spare.
Charges from flat to full in approximately 1 hour 20 minutes — standard power stations at this capacity take 5–8 hours to charge. The Hero Max uses fast charging to refill in around 1.3 hours from a wall socket. If loadshedding ends at 10pm and starts again at midnight, it's fully recharged before the next stage begins. This transforms a backup battery into a genuinely practical daily appliance.
12 output ports — powers the whole room, not just one device — 2× 220V SA three-prong plugs, 1× USB-C PD 100W, 1× USB-C PD 30W, 3× USB-A QC 3.0 (18W each), 2× DC 5521 12V/3A barrel ports, 1× car socket 12V/10A, and 1× XT60 12V/25A port for solar or DC loads. Everything charges simultaneously without a power strip.
Solar ready — charge from panels when Eskom isn't available — the XT60 input accepts up to 200W of solar panel input. Pair with one or two foldable solar panels for off-grid charging during extended outages or camping. Solar input is in addition to wall charging, so both can run simultaneously to maximise charge speed.
Full battery management system — safe in every condition — the built-in BMS protects against over-charge, over-discharge, over-temperature, short circuit, and overload. Combined with LiFePO4's inherent thermal stability, the Hero Max is safe to run indoors, overnight, and in a home office environment without ventilation concerns.

Estimated run times — single device

Device Draw Runtime
42" LED TV 100W 8.9 hrs
55" LED TV 140W 6.3 hrs
Desktop PC 300W 2.9 hrs
Single fridge 400W 2.2 hrs
Microwave 800W 1.1 hrs
Double-door fridge 780W 1.1 hrs
Router + laptop + 3 LED lights* ~130W ~7 hrs

Quick estimate: Runtime ≈ 1024Wh ÷ total watts used. Example: 200W setup = ±5 hours. The lower your combined wattage, the longer it runs.

Frequently asked questions

Will it keep my router and TV running during a 2-hour loadshedding stage?

Comfortably. A typical fibre router draws 15–20W and a 55–65" LED TV around 100–130W. Running both together plus two or three LED lights totals roughly 160–180W — giving you 5+ hours of runtime. Stage 2 loadshedding (2 hours) is well within range. For Stage 6 (4–6 hours), you would need to be selective about what you run, but essential devices — router, laptop, lights — will last the full stage and beyond.

What's the difference between this and a regular UPS?

A traditional UPS is designed for a single device (usually a desktop PC or router) with 20–60 minutes of backup — just enough time to save your work and shut down. The Gizzu Hero Max gives you 1024Wh — enough for multiple devices over hours, not minutes. It also charges in 1.3 hours, has 12 output ports, accepts solar input, and uses LiFePO4 chemistry that lasts 3,500 cycles. It's a whole-room power backup with UPS-grade switchover speed.

Can I charge it while devices are plugged in and running?

Yes — this is exactly how UPS mode works. The Hero Max sits plugged into the wall at all times with your devices connected to it. When the power goes out, it switches to battery in 10ms. When power returns, it recharges while continuing to power your devices. You never need to manually switch anything on or off.

Is it safe to use indoors? Does it produce fumes?

Yes — completely safe indoors. Unlike petrol generators, the Gizzu Hero Max produces zero emissions. LiFePO4 is the safest lithium battery chemistry — it doesn't off-gas under normal operating conditions and has a significantly lower risk of thermal runaway than standard lithium-ion. It can run in a bedroom, home office, or lounge without ventilation concerns.

Can it run a fridge or a microwave?

A single door fridge (400W) will run for approximately 2.2 hours; a double-door fridge (780W) for about 1.1 hours — based on official Gizzu runtime figures. Note these are peak draw figures; fridges cycle on and off, so real-world runtime will be somewhat longer. A microwave at 800W runs for approximately 1.1 hours — enough for repeated use during a loadshedding stage. For most loadshedding scenarios, keeping lights, a TV, a router, and a laptop running simultaneously is the most efficient use of the 1024Wh capacity.
